Visit by Norwegian Architects

Power of Place - A year of Architecture and Place
The Shetland Architectural Society took an active part in the Year of Architecture and Place held in Shetland during 2010. Architecture was celebrated by a series of public events throughout the year culminating in an international conference.
The Power of Place website is here.

The international conference presented ideas on dealing with the challenge of future-proofing our dwellings, infrastructure and communities. There was a particular focus on remote and island communities in the northern latitudes.

The conference was chaired by Branka Dimetrijevic and peakers included:
Chris Butters, Chris Morgan, Roots Design Workshop, Dominic Cole, Andrew Leiper, Brian Wilkinson, Arni Winther, Hugh Broughton
