Members and guests of the Shetland Architectural Society pictured at their recent dinner held in the restaurant of the new Shetland Museum and Archives. Attending the dinner was Mary Wrenn, Chief Executive of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, who was in Shetland with her husband Richard Parnaby as guests of the Society. The dinner provided the opportunity to celebrate local architecture and officially launch the Shetland Architectural Society website www.shetlandarchiteture.co.uk. The website provides information about architecture in Shetland, details of practicing Architects and illustrations of the quality designs they carry out. With guests from the local construction industry also present, Chairman of the Society Iain Malcolmson paid tribute to the high standard of workmanship there is in Shetland which is necessary to translate design into successfully completed buildings.

The Society contributed an article on the benefits of using an Architect to The Shetland Times as part of a 'Homes' supplement. The article can be read here.
